What It Is:

The International Coal Preparation Congress (ICPC) has been held every four years at some major coal producing country around the world. It was started as an offshoot of the Marshall Plan to help the European coal industry get back ‘on it’s feet’ after WW II. It has become the forum for the introduction of all new coal preparation technologies to the industry.

Coal Preparation Society of America:

CPSA was founded in 2001 to serve the professional needs of individuals interested in all aspects of the coal preparation industry. The underlying goal of the society is to provide a forum for the free exchange of technical information through conference meetings, technical publications, workshops, and personal contacts. By joining CPSA, you can:

  • learn about new technologies
  • build your network in the industry
  • reduce costs and improve profitability
  • increase your value to your employer
  • find new opportunities
  • build your professional credentials
  • understand your customers and vendors
  • improve the coal industry
  • build public understanding of coal preparation

Host:

This is the first time that the ICPC has been held in the United States since 1966. ICPC 2010 is being hosted by the Coal Preparation Society of America in cooperation with the Mining Engineering Department of the University of Kentucky.

Speaker’s Breakfast/Speaker’s Ready Room:

A Speaker’s Breakfast will be held daily during the Congress beginning at 7:00am in Thoroughbred Rooms 5 and 6 at the Lexington Center. Important details for the sessions will be reviewed. A Speaker’s Ready Room is available in Thoroughbred Room 7 at the Lexington Center. A computer will be available to review power point presentations.
